Why Coyote?

In Native American traditions, animals hold valuable medicine- teachings and lessons, offerings for how to move on this earth. Coyote is often described as the “trickster”- the one to question the rules, as well as break them, the one who seeks non-conformity. He is the one who will test us, which can bring us to our knees. He is the one who will stand by us in these times, looking to when you are ready to get back up, and begin again. Coyote breaks stagnation, breaks up the old. Coyote seeks innovation, truth, new vision, and new ways of living and being.

Beginning therapy can feel overwhelming. It takes great strength, courage, and patience with self in making the discoveries of what is outdated, what is not working and further, how to take action in creating change. To entertain such the idea, a personal quest, of aligning more fully back into self, considering new visions, trusting in the process, and embracing the courage to leap into these voids. Coyote helps guide along the way, the warrior’s path, in quest towards one's true north.
